I focused on the importance of learner motivation for my article. Student motivation is such a critical component to maximize student learning and achievement. A motivated student has no barriers to learning. I think about my own learning and how my own motivation plays such as important role. When I am motivated, school work doesn't seem like work at all. It's the same for the students that I teach.
This week, we also focused on our e-portfolio and the creation of it. I think this is a really cool idea. It really is a tangible way to see what you've done and what you've learned. It also allows others to view what you have created and learned. As a means of assessment, I think it should be used more in all levels, especially on the elementary level. This would be just another important tool for students to use to reinforce their learning. That's another cool aspect of the portfolio. It is a great review of what you have studied. It also represents the best of your work, and who isn't game for looking at your own greatest hits collection. For me, I think the portfolio will help me stay focused and organized. It will help me learn about what I can do, and how well I can do it.
